I am a friendly, approachable, professionally qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Hypnotherapist. I am fully insured to practice, hold an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS), am a Registrant Member of both the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and the National Hypnotherapy Society (HS) and abide by their respective Codes of Ethical Practice. I engage in regular clinical supervision and am dedicated to expanding my knowledge and skills within hypnotherapy, counselling, psychotherapy, and psychology through undertaking regular continuing professional development.

Prior to beginning my career in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Hypnotherapy, I studied Adult Nursing at the University of Southampton, qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2005, and worked within the NHS for 16 years. After qualifying, I specialised in Cardiology and Gastroenterology, however I have also worked across many other acute medical and surgical specialities; providing me with extensive knowledge and experience of many physical and mental health conditions.

As a therapist, I work with a broad range of presenting issues and from a Pluralistic perspective, having trained within the three, main modalities of counselling; Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as well as Hypnotherapy. This enables me to draw upon a multitude of psychological theories, methods, skills, and interventions which in turn, allows us to work dynamically, ensuring that your sessions are focused around what you need, and support you using the best approach, at the right time.

Alongside my private Counselling and Hypnotherapy practice, I also provide counselling to employees and eligible policy holders from a variety of professions and backgrounds through an established employee assistance programme (EAP) and health insurance provider, and volunteer for a Bereavement Support charity.

I am based in Southsea, Portsmouth, UK and meet with clients Face to Face in my home office, however I am also able to work with clients further afield via telephone, and on secure, online platforms such as Google Meet. My clients, (when we are able to meet Face to Face) enjoy the benefits of a welcoming, comfortable, confidential, and quiet environment with driveway parking available.
